The story of the Wrexham Fans FC team starts in early Spring of 2012, where friends had been previously only seeing each other in The Turf an hour or two before each Wrexham game. And probably after a few too many in the Turf, someone had the bright idea to pretend to be a proper Wrexham player, and to start our very own Wrexham team.
So the following weekend, those who had always wanted to pull on the famous red shirt dusted down their boots, and gathered on a local field to play a local side. It soon became apparent that this group of talented individuals could play together as a team.
Having continued to beat the local sides (some of whom ply their trade in the local Sunday Leagues) Wrexham player-manager Matthew Thomas seeked more opposition, and was soon pointed to the IFA League.
Since joining the IFA, this Wrexham side have taken on the most experienced sides in the league, and have given a good account of themselves. As the team confidence continues to grow, it has seen a marked improvement in recent results.
