Named after the goalscorer of the greatest ever Wrexham goal, Ian Edwards; nicknamed Chezney for his uncanny resemblance to Coronation Street heart throb Chesney Brown.
This David Hasselhoff wannabe lifeguard spends his days checking out women in bikinis (sadly, the standard in Wrexham isn’t the same patroling the beaches of Los Angeles).
Chezney plays like a rhino, only quicker, and doesn’t have a particularly pointy horn (that’s what she said!).
Ian’s proudest moment to date in a Wrexham shirt came in the big derby game away at Chester. Having been unimpressed with witnessing his pal Tom Campbell score a with fluffed shot, Campbell shouted over saying “at least I’ve scored”.
This outraged Chezney, who straight from kick off won the ball back from the Chester opposition. Skipped past one challenge, and another, and another and found himself running direct at goal. A delicately placed finish saw the ginger rhino score one of the best goals in Wrexham Fans’ history. Just like his name sake.
