As Kevin Wilkin is getting suited and booted ready to take his Wrexham team to face North Ferriby United in the 2015 FA Trophy Final at Wembley, he won’t be the only Wrexham manager with high hopes for the weekend’s trip to London, as the Wrexham Fans team also make their way to the English capital for what is the biggest game in their short and successful history.
Having established themselves as a league team in 2012, Dyfan Jones and his team have gone from strength to strength over the last three seasons and having cemented the reds as a top five side in the IFA League.
They have also reached the quarter finals of the IFA National Cup where they are facing top of the league West Ham United who are yet to be defeated at home this season.
With a semi final place at stake for the winners, the Wrexham manager knows it will be a tough task to topple the table toppers.
He said “we’ll give ourselves the best opportunity of winning by preparing as much as possible. We’ve treated the players to hotel accommodation, first class train and chauffeur driven everywhere else. It’s now up to me and the players to to the business on the pitch.”
Wrexham’s last two trips down to the south of England have both been successful after beating Cambridge United on both occasions 2-1 and 5-3 respectively Wrexham will be missing key players for the trip down to London with Lee Roberts, Jack Scott and Steve Elliot missing for the reds in this vital clash, but welcome back leading scorer Josh Leach back into the squad after missing the last two games through injury.
We will be hearing from the Wrexham camp ahead of the West Ham clash and get some reactions to the game and the possibility of a semi final for the first time in the clubs history.
