Robbie Savage plays for local side

savLocal boy Robbie Savage came on for the second half to play alongside Fans keeper Nathan Williams.

Savage wore a prosthetic mask, complete with a wig and beard to fool the big stopper and team mates as they prepared to face The Turf.

Nathan was quoted in the Daily Mail saying, “He looked like the Taliban from Team America!”

Nathan did ask Robbie whether he would like to join the Wrexham Fans Team, but the ex Premiership and Wales midfielder knew that with Steve Garnett and Jack Scott in midfield, chances of breaking into the team appeared slim. Instead, he’d prefer to irate Alan Hansen and the rest of the MOTD gang.

He did however score a lovely 30 yard free kick past ex Wrexham Fans ‘Chopper’.

Sav was undercover for a documentary soon to be aired on BBC1 The One Show.
